Mike Burnes


I am a US veteran who has served with the Army National Guard for the past 19 years. It was during my third overseas tour when I was introduced to CrossFit. I have always been active in fitness using traditional weightlifting and running programs completing the Boston Marathon in 2006. CrossFit presented the challenges and functional benefits that I was looking for. After completing my first CrossFit workout “Cindy”, I was hooked. I use Crossfit for my military training, I serve as adviser to my unit commander for our physical training program, as well as my civilian occupation as a Fire Fighter. I thrive in a competitive atmosphere with a coaching style that is both supportive and encouraging.
