Warm Up and Mobility
Movie Clue – The Limit Does Not Exist
Open Workout 16.1
Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 20 minutes of:
25-ft. overhead walking lunge
8 burpees
25-ft. overhead walking lunge
8 chest-to-bar pull-ups
Men lunge 95 lb.
Women lunge 65 lb.
Notes
Prior to starting this workout, each athlete will need to mark a starting point on the floor, measure out 25 feet and make another mark on the floor at the finishing point. Additionally, intermediate marks must be made at every 5-foot interval, each of which represents 1 rep of the lunge.
This workout begins with the barbell resting on the floor near the pull-up bar. At the call of “3, 2, 1 … go,” the athlete will pick up the barbell and lunge with it overhead for 25 feet. They will then perform 8 burpees, jumping over the barbell on each repetition, before picking the barbell back up and lunging back in the opposite direction. Once back at the pull-up bar, they will perform 8 chest-to-bar pull-ups, and then will head back to the barbell to begin the next round.
Your score will be the total number of repetitions completed before the 20-minute time cap.

Thank you pj for getting in early and measuring everything so precisely, next time I’ll lay on the floor so you don’t need to use the tape measure. Castro continue with the 5′ increments please.

Good times. Thanks PJ!
What a way to start a Friday! 16.1 is complete and I feel fantastic. This was the first time I have ever done OH lunges and they felt awesome. Also the first time I have ever RXed an open WOD.

This was a really tough workout. Since I have the core of a wet noodle, the overhead lunge was proved to be rather difficult. Have a great day everyone.

Thank you Harry for being a great judge and motivator. If it wasn’t for you, I would not have pushed as hard as I did!
Everyone freaking rocked it this morning! I don’t know about you guys, but my legs are jello!
Hello 16.1!
In Open land I scored 18. Masters/Scaled UGH
However I moved way more than 18 freakin times…how about 148 – and more if you count ALL the lunges not just the 5 that I was supposed to do! AND I touched my knees every.single.time! Never done that before. And I did ring rows…sexy ones for sure. SO pleased with my work this morning.
And I got to do the work with Peg – that is one determined woman. Love her and I would not have been able to do it without her. Rock on Mama G!
This is my second Open season – the last one was terrifying. I was barely a crossfitter but I wanted to participate. I also wanted to do it “like everyone else” which meant at night and although I didn’t have most of the movements I wanted to try. And I stressed myself out a lot. ALOT!
This year I am older (yay for 55 and Masters) and WISER! I am a morning person so I did the workout in the morning. So much better and way less stressful. I also realized that I am an athlete and a legit crossfitter…and that I have moves…not all of them but I can push on the ones I have even freakin burpees!
Thanks to the 6am All Stars who did an awesome job – cheering each other on while doing the work!YES!
Coach PJ – you are the best! I hope you took my advice and had a nice breakfast, an extra cup of coffee and worked from HOME! YOU DA MAN!!!
See you tonight for Fiesta time!

Thx for judging PJ! Thanks to Derek and Sarah for the push at the end see everybody tonight! Enjoy the day
My first crossfit open experience is in the books folks!

I literally almost sat this one out. My knees have not been great and they get really angry when I isolate them separately. I have completely cut lunges and have to pick and choose when I do step ups etc…
Sarah said to get a score I just had to do 1 rep, and then if it wasn’t happening I could finish the WOD my way.
I decided to take it slow and just see how long my knee would put up with it, and I finished put the whole 20 minutes. A slow a cautious 20 minutes, but none the less a victory for sure! Did my first jumping pull-ups and bar facing burpees with a jump in a WOD today too!
Thank you Mike V for being a great judge and for the tips!! Shout out to Scarlet too who I had the pleasure of judging! You totally rocked it!!
Nice job 9:30!! Good luck rail trailers!!
16:1 = 156
Judge = Justin
Notes :
Keep arms in a little closer and make sure full lockout while engaging core n lats
Kept lunges unbroken til very last round arms broke down with 10 ‘ left ,picked back up and regrouped quick ,but wasn’t easy. My tank was depleted fully at the end of this WOD.
C2B were unbroken first round or two then broke it up according to how They felt moving forward .
My first open workout !
I really enjoyed being a part of every aspect of this event , nice job everyone ! Thank CFRT for spoiling the shit out of us!
Love it Carl!
Woww!!!!
Awesome job CFRT! Friday night fiesta is a must! Can’t go without it! Congrats to every one involved! Everyone who competed, judged, coached, cheered, hang around!

#129 hard reps!
Way to go CFRT!
Oh 16.1, I’m glad youre over and I’m glad I got to tackle you. I went into this knowing I wanted to push myself and attempt C2B, so I decided to go RX. I had originally thought that was going to be the toughest part for me and the lunges would be rough, but doable. Boy was I wrong! Although I’m sure I moved at a snails pace, I’m pretty happy with my result. Thanks for being a great judge MAC!
Such a fun night! Everyone definitely gave it their all!
Forgot to post reps. Lol
16.1-86
Sorry to miss the fiesta! Went to Crossfit Bourne and got 226. Really nice and welcoming box, but tiny!
Can’t wait to join in on the CFRT fun next week!
oops, scaled
🙂
So so glad that’s over! Lots of fun watching everyone conquer this ugly wod for sure. 105 reps scaled, judge Judy pushing me every second to keep moving. Tough 20 minutes, but I’m so so excited for everyone that got a first or even just made it through that mess when they didn’t think they could!
16.1 this it was my first Crossfit open and I loved it, I went in the morning I judge Kristy and she had to go because she had to go to work, so Gus was my judge, he was so patient helping me with every rep.. Thank you so much “Amore Mio, you Rock!
I was very proud to get 234 reps,
Congrats to everyone that participated, and thank you Pj for great coaching as always!
Did 16.1 at Crossfit St. Thomas. Tough one in the heat.
Masters RX – 18 reps. Was hoping l’d be one of those people who got their first pull-up for the Open, but it didn’t happen. Tried a few times, then did the remaining time Masters scaled and got another 187 reps.
Missing the Rail Trailers!
We miss you, great work Janet!
